Project overview
The marketing strategy for Financial Media Exchange centered on building brand awareness and driving user engagement through digital channels like social media, email marketing, and a strong web presence. Additionally, partnerships with key industry players and targeted print collateral helped expand reach and attract Financial Advisors.
The problem at hand
The stakeholders of Financial Media Exchange (FMeX) had a strong vision and a solid business plan. Their goal was to create a platform that would enable Financial Advisors to manage the entire content marketing process—from creation and distribution to measurement—all in one place. By streamlining these efforts, the platform would make marketing and lead generation faster, easier, and more effective, ultimately driving stronger client communication and increased revenue.
What they didn’t have yet was the FMeX application itself—or the creative digital and print marketing materials needed to promote and sell the platform to prospects.
That’s where my team and I came in.

Devising a strategy
Working closely with FMeX stakeholders, I helped develop a plan to build the web application and craft a marketing strategy designed to drive sales. The primary objective was to convert prospects into subscribers by encouraging free trial signups, followed by internal sales efforts and automated email campaigns to close conversions by the end of the trial period.
Our strategy targeted tech-savvy Financial Advisors—both men and women aged 30 to 55. With a deep understanding of their digital behaviors, we focused on social media, email, and web marketing, while also leveraging traditional print campaigns to boost engagement. We created a full suite of deliverables, including a visual brand identity, a marketing website, HTML email campaigns, and print materials—along with white-label versions to support partner sales.

Turning strategy into success
To bring the Financial Media Exchange brand and marketing strategy to life, we delivered a comprehensive suite of materials—including a brand and logo guide, a marketing website, and the setup and management of social media profiles across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Our digital efforts also included HTML marketing emails, banner ads, and promotional landing pages, while print collateral ranged from sales sheets and brochures to trade show materials.
The strategy drove impressive growth, attracting thousands of retail and enterprise subscribers within two years. Strategic partnerships with leading content and technology providers like Redtail Technology and Morningstar, as well as channel partners such as XY Planning Network and Fidelity, helped extend FMeX’s market reach.
